Most people eat the bulk of their daily protein in the evening. Breakfast is carbohydrate, lunch is thin, and at seven in the evening the big portion arrives. For muscle, that is the worst of all distributions - and the reason lies in the physiology of muscle protein synthesis.

## Muscle protein synthesis counts servings, not daily totals

Mamerow et al. (2014) compared two groups with an identical daily protein intake: one spread evenly across three meals, one loaded towards the evening. ## Why three components beat one
