# The September Reset: 7 Habits to Carry You Through Autumn

> September is the second start of the year. Seven small habits, built one per day, replace any New Year's resolution.

Nobody starts changes in December. But September? September is the secret start of the year: the holidays are digested, the routine returns, and there are four full months left until Christmas. If you build seven small habits now, you will walk into the new year with a different body and a different mind. Here is our 7-day protocol: one habit per day, each building on the one before.

## Day 1: The 30 Gram Breakfast

Around 30 g of protein at breakfast crosses the leucine threshold, kickstarts muscle protein synthesis and stabilizes your blood sugar until lunch. The easiest way: [overnight oats with protein powder](/en/blog/overnight-oats-30g-protein-fruehstueck), prepared the night before.

## Day 2: 10,000 Steps, but Honestly

Not as dogma, but as a lower limit for a daily life that otherwise happens sitting down. The trick: attach walking to existing routines. Phone calls standing up, getting off one stop early, ten minutes outside after lunch.

## Day 3: One Zone 2 Session

30 to 45 minutes at a pace where you can still hold a conversation. Zone 2 builds your aerobic base, improves fat burning and speeds up recovery between intense sessions. One session per week is the start, two are the goal.

## Day 4: Drink Before You Get Hungry

Thirst is notoriously mistaken for hunger. The protocol: a large glass of water right after getting up, a bottle in plain sight on your desk, a glass before every meal. If you sweat, add electrolytes.

## Day 5: The Sleep Edge

The most powerful recovery measure costs nothing: a consistent bedtime, 7.5 to 9 hours, a dark cool room, last screen 30 minutes before. Deep sleep is when growth hormone release and repair happen, and without sleep every workout fizzles out.

## Day 6: One Meal-Prep Session

One Sunday pot changes the whole week: a [chili](/en/blog/kuerbis-chili-con-carne-protein), a [bowl base](/en/blog/bulgur-kuerbis-bowl-granatapfel-post-workout) or a soup. If you have cooked ahead, you will not order the wrong thing at 7 pm.

## Day 7: The Weekly Plan

Ten minutes on Sunday evening: workouts into the calendar, meal-prep day set, sleep windows blocked. What is planned happens. What is supposed to happen "sometime this week" dies on Thursday.

## The Supplement Foundation to Go with It

Habits first, supplements as the foundation underneath: [WOO® Basic Plus](/en/shop/woo-basic-plus-can) as a broad micronutrient base, [WOO® Omega-3](/en/shop/woo-omega-3-can) for inflammation balance and [WOO® Creatine Monohydrate](/en/shop/woo-creatine-monohydrate-can) as the best-documented supplement for strength and cognition.

And if you want the reset with structure and guidance instead of going it alone: that is exactly what the [SWEAT Challenge](/en/challenge) was built for, 7 days, coached, with a plan.
